Baby Bonding Activity: Play Easter Dress-Up!

Bunnies, eggs and jellybeans—everything Easter’s surely in the air!

The Easter holidays are the perfect excuse for a little family fun, hunting for painted eggs and lounging in garden chairs after a wonderful brunch. For you and your little ones, Easter can be a magical bonding time and made all the more memorable by some choice hair accessories from No Slippy Hair Clippy.

Candy-Colored Clipettes for Babies
Our candy-colored clipettes are just the right choice for little ones with a sweet tooth.

The popular Dots clipettes come in a range of beautiful pastel colors and have a non-slip grip designed to keep your baby’s hair comfortably in place all day. The round shapes evoke the bright-colored eggs so popular during this time of year, and you can choose from a selection of colors ranging from Turquoise to Lime (both in picture) and even classic White.

The bunny is another enduring symbol of Easter, and you can have this cuddly animal accompany your baby at all times. Choose between two cute designs: The Bunny pinch clip (above left) which shows a white bewhiskered wabbit, or the Alisha pinch clip (above right) which has a felt stitch bunny face in citron pink.

Easter Hair Accessories for Mommies
Speaking of the Easter bunny, do you know why most of them are colored pink? According to tradition, pink signifies a fresh beginning.

As the mother of a beautiful baby, wearing pink hair accessories can be your way of celebrating the arrival of your baby girl into the world.

The Emily bow (above) is a sweet shade of light pink that looks splendid on light or dark hair.

A sparkly option is the Heather headband, which has a multi-layer flower, gilded with sequins and beads. It comes in both shocking pink (in picture) and white.

It doesn’t matter if your hair is curly, wavy, or straight—our clips and headbands are comfortable, and they just work!

The No Slippy Hair Clippy store also has many more hair accessories for babies and their mothers – check them out and you may find more beautiful pairings for Easter!

Elegant Hair Accessories for Prom Night

The senior prom will be one of the most memorable nights in your daughter’s life.  Surely she’ll look beautiful and elegant, just like a movie star!

Picking the perfect gown is never easy, but in between custom fittings and arranging limo rides, don’t overlook choosing the right hair accessory to complement her gorgeous evening attire.

Don’t panic! We scoured red carpets far and wide for the trendy looks sported by today’s young stars, and matched them with No Slippy Hair Clippy® accessories that will look hip and keep things classy!

Want to mimic Taylor Swift’s wavy coif? Why not go with the Ryan flower, a dainty silk organza flower that looks great on wavy hair and comes in five rich colors, from soft pink to dark brown (in picture right).

Does your daughter have long dark hair like Nina Dobrev of Vampire Diaries fame (in picture left)? Hold it in place with the lovely Tonya headband (in picture right), an organic cotton headwrap topped off with a silk flower design.

All-American girl Diana Agron (in picture left), who plays Quinn Fabray in Glee, sports a princess-like updo that frames her beautiful face. Achieve the same soft look for your daughter with the Parker bow (in picture right), available in lavender and light blue.

For the fashion rebel who wants to make a statement like music siren Lady Gaga (in picture left), the Fiona clipette bow is a flexible choice that can be attached on back, top, or side of any hairstyle. The white color version (in picture right) gives off a girly and feminine vibe, but the volume can be pumped up by choosing more vibrant hues, such as shocking pink.

If you're looking for even more prom hair accessory ideas, I recently wrote this post that helped a mom choose a matching hair accessory for her prom-going daughter. Feel free to browse the No Slippy Hair Clippy store as well to get even more inspiration.

Good luck, and happy prom night!

Ask Annie!

Holly from Wisconsin wrote,

Hullo Annie!

I’ve been a big fan of your hair accessories for a while now and I need your help! My daughter’s getting ready for her senior prom in a couple of weeks, she’s got a beautiful, olive green, strapless dress and a matching hand bag ready. However, I’d love to get her something from mom that’s timeless and elegant, something she can remember years from now that just completes her look.

PS. I think her little sister, who just turned 12 is getting a little jealous of all the attention, so if you could suggest something for her too I’d really appreciate it!

Hello Holly! Prom season is fast approaching isn’t it? I’m actually planning a separate blog post about what to wear to the prom, but since your need appears to be more immediate, I’d be happy to give you a few early tips.

The prom is a special night and I think it’s fantastic to be able to look back at what you wore and feel a sense of pride, elegant is good and timeless is even better!  I think I’ve got just the thing…

The Lucia Two Tone Silk Flower, available in a deep lime or brilliant white is wonderfully classy and beautifully understated.

Just as elegant is the Kaia Large Lily Flower,  I think getting one of these in white would be a lovely subtle accent to your daughter’s olive green dress.

But let’s not forget her little sister! I think it’s wonderful you want to get her something nice as well, it won’t be too long before she’s looking for accessories to wear to her senior prom! I recommend our Coco Satin Bows with Rhinestone, available in a variety of colors (my personal favorite happens to be Maroon).

I hope your daughter has a lovely prom Holly, and don’t hesitate to write if you have any other questions!

In Full Bloom: Lovely hair accessories for Spring

Over winter, we tend to bury ourselves in wool coats, knit bonnets and wraparound scarves to keep warm. But spring is here so shed away those bulky layers in favor of light, vibrant outfits!

Brighten up your wardrobe with these flower-themed hair accessories from No Slippy Hair Clippy:

The Layla clip has a two tone felt design and studded with sparkling acrylic gemstones. It comes in various orchid color pairings from french blue and sand yellow to lime green and mandarin orange (in picture).

The Felicia Flower clip has a bejeweled design that looks dazzling on any young girl. You can choose between a pinch clip or French clip version, and can pick from among three gem colors including bright lavender (in picture).

Cute as a button! That’s what everyone will say when they see your little tyke wearing the Isabeli clip, a no-slip felt mini clip that comes in shocking pink, lime and lavender (in picture).

Pack the Andrea Headband and make heads turn when you pair either the red (in picture) or black accessory to your favorite summer frocks.

If you’re headed for breezy mountaintop destinations, the Sage Headband is a wonderful choice since its cotton headwrap design keeps your hair firmly in place. The daisy flower centerpiece also helps soften your rugged hiking ensemble.

Law & Order's Alana De la Garza thanks No Slippy Hair Clippy!

Mary Lenore: Just wanted to say Thank You! We loved the goodies you sent for our son Kieran! The little baby legs are sooo sweet. Cannot wait to use these all around town. I’ve already had girlfriends ask where to get them. Hair Clippy’s are always great for mommy’s frazzled hair. And the magazines are always fun! Thanks again!
xxx,
Alana De la Garza

It’s our pleasure Alana! We appreciate the hand written note and we knew you’d love the No Slippy Hair Clippy hair accessories included in your baby shower basket. We picked the best ones for your short wavy hair so you’ll always look great while taking Kieran out on a stroll, or when you’re shooting your new show Law & Order: Los Angeles.

For those wondering who that beautiful baby boy is, that’s precious Kieran (full name: Kieran Thomas Roberts), the first child of Alana and husband Michael Roberts. Kieran was born on September 28 and weighed in at a healthy 9 lbs., 3 oz.

When Alana’s not doting on her son, she’s busy shooting new episodes for Law & Order: Los Angeles. Alana gained such a big fan base on the original Law & Order series as the tough Assistant District Attorney Consuela “Connie” Rubirosa that producers of the spin-off series asked her to reprise her role.

Law & Order: Los Angeles returns with all-new episodes on April 11, so let’s tune in and cheer Alana the supermom!

Ask Annie

Melanie from Atlanta wrote:

Hello Annie,

The weather has been absolutely dreadful, and as you can imagine my twin nine year old daughters and I are really looking forward to spring!

We’ve already planned some picnics in the park and have some wonderful open air concert nights that we’re looking forward to. More than anything really, we just want to be able to take some nice long walks! Do you have any ideas for hair accessories?

Hi Melanie! The weather has been a bit much hasn’t it? Snow and snowmen are all well and good, but mushy ice and frosty days indoors are not for me!

I love picnics in the park, I don’t get to go on picnics as much as I would like to these days, but preparing a packed lunch and unfurling a soft blanket on the cool grass is just so much fun!

But that’s quite enough daydreaming! As far as hair accessories for spring go? Here’s what I recommend:

Our Lauren Crochet Flowers, particularly in Apricot or Turquoise. They’re very cute and the subtle variation in texture and detailing really brings them to life. Can’t you just see your little girls wearing these?

And here’s a little something you too, mom, we wouldn’t want you to feel left out! Our Tallulah French and Pinch Clips from the Multi-Colored Embroidery Flower line are a wonderfully vibrant burst of color, particularly in Amethyst or Olive

Alternatively, you could go for that classic look and try out our Daisy Headband, with a beautifully detailed pure white headband and spring daisy adorning.

Whichever No Slippy Hair Clippy you decide to get, remember its spring, so don’t be afraid to really announce yourself, think subtle yet deep colors, and above all have fun!
