Moms Love Clippies!

We have another lovely review and this time it's from MomViews.net. It's a site that is dedicated to smart parenting and smart shopping and features news and reviews on the latest items in the market for your family, including some really neat baby gear and baby items.

This was actually written months ago, but I just had to share it with you! The review goes:

"My daughter may be decked out in all pink and yet she still gets referred to as a boy. "Oh, HE'S so cute" and I of course cannot help but to correct it. "No, she's a girl" followed by " yeah, I know it's so hard to tell when they are infants" just to lessen the embarrassment they may feel. So after a couple of those comments, I decided to look for some hair clips for my newborn.

But first - there are lots to consider when buying an infant some hair accessories. Of course they'd
have to look cute - that's a given. But I needed hair clips that will hold on my daughter's baby thin locks. And most importantly, the clips has to be safe for my baby's delicate head. And after googling for many different online boutiques, I discovered No Slippy Hair Clippy! Not only do they have the cutest selections, but they meet all the criteria in what I'm looking for."

Thank you so much! We appreciate the lovely review! You can read the rest here.

Funny Kid Quotes

Kids say the silliest, funniest things, don’t they? I believe that one of the many perks of being a parent is the entertainment that kids provide when they innocently attempt to understand the world around them. Ever wondered how their little minds understand LOVE? Here are some quotes that cracked me up and made me go awww:

What is love?

"I think you're supposed to get shot with an arrow or something, but the rest of it isn't supposed to be so painful."

"Love is the most important thing in the world, but baseball is pretty good too."

"A man and a woman promise to go through sickness and illness and diseases together."

"I'm not rushing into being in love. I'm finding fourth grade hard enough."

About kissing

"When a person gets kissed for the first time, they fall down, and they don't get up for at least an hour."

"If it's your mother, you can kiss her anytime. But if it's a new person, you have to ask permission."

When they see lovers

"Romantic adults usually are all dressed up, so if they are just wearing jeans it might mean they used to go out or they just broke up."

How to make people fall in love with you

"Tell them that you own a whole bunch of candy stores."

"Yell out that you love them at the top of your lungs. And don't worry if their parents are right there."

The best age to get married

"Twenty three is the best age because you know the person forever by then."

Yummy Turkey

Yes, ladies, I'm still wide awake! Just to bask in the success of my Thanksgiving dinner for a little bit more... So how did you celebrate? Of course, no Thanksgiving's complete without some good ol' turkey. And I'm sharing with you an easy-breezy recipe that I recently tried that was a hit among my guests:

Prep time: 30 minutes
Cook time: 4 hours

Ingredients:

1 (18 pound) whole turkey
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
1 1/2 quarts turkey stock
8 cups prepared stuffing

Procedure:
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Place rack in the lowest position of the oven.
  2. Remove the turkey neck and giblets. Rinse the turkey and then pat-dry with paper towels. Place the turkey, breast side up, on a rack in the roasting pan. Loosely fill the body cavity with stuffing. Rub the skin with the softened butter and then season with salt and pepper. Position an aluminum foil tent over the turkey.
  3. Place turkey in the oven. Pour 2 cups turkey stock into the the roasting pan. Baste all over every 30 minutes with the juices on the bottom of the pan. Whenever the drippings evaporate, add stock to moisten them, about 1 to 2 cups at a time. Remove aluminum foil after 2 1/2 hours. Roast until a meat thermometer inserted in the meaty part of the thigh reads 180 degrees F (80 degrees C), about 4 hours.
  4. Transfer the turkey to a large serving platter and let it stand for at least 20 to 30 minutes before carving.

Lovely Holidays!

When I think of Christmas, I think of all things festive and joyous. There is simply no reason not to celebrate! With the holiday celebrations coming up, I'm sure your darling daughters (or little nieces or little sisters) will be in a cheery mood themselves, as it also means that they will be dressing up!

While there will always be charming new dresses in stores by Christmas, I know it's always been challenging to find the perfect hair accessories to match them. I know a lot of moms whose daughters have super fine hair and they always complain about how they can spend the whole day just clipping and re-clipping baby bows. What's worse, sometimes these hair accessories even tug at the hair and hurt the girls.

Ladies, fret not. I have cute little baby bows and hair clips that answer just that: No Slippy Hair Clippy! And here are our lovely Clips of the Month:

Valerie (3" Layered Two Toned Fashion Double Bow, available in 4 colors)

Courtney Velvet Baby Bow (available in 7 colors)

So even as your little one sings and dances to Christmas carols, you are sure she will remain the prettiest little head at the ball. Of course, you can go ahead and prettify yourself, too, with our Mommy and Me designs. Or, as a baby gift suggestion, give these adorable baby items away!

Rock-a-BYE BABY?

A crib is one of the very few places that parents can trust to be a safe place for their children. So the recent news about the largest crib recall in US history is truly alarming, to say the least.

According to the article in Yahoo! News, a staggering 2.1 million drop-side cribs are being recalled by the government after four infants were reported to have suffocated while inside them! Apart from that, the Consumer Product Safety Commission added that there have been 110 incidents of drop-sides detaching from the cribs. Drop-side cribs are the kinds that have a side that moves up and down to allow parents to lift children from the cribs more easily.

An Early Christmas Gift

You can always tell when Christmas is around the corner. Somehow the atmosphere turns cheery and everyone seems to have a joyful air about them. While it's still 40+ days away, I seem to be getting gifts early this year.

I recently read a wonderful review from lovely mom Christine, of The IE Mommy, who wrote about how much she and her twin girls adore No Slippy Hair Clippy Headbands!

Here's an excerpt of what she had to say:

"We have three Christmas events to attend with family this year, two Christmas parties, one holiday celebration, caroling and a gift wrapping demo…I think No Slippy Hair Clippy Headbands are going to make getting my girls dressed and ready to go…just a bit easier this year!"

You can read the rest of her review here.

Thank you so much for your kind words, Christine. It thrills me to know that our accessories will prettify your girls this Christmas. Here's to a lovely holiday season!
