Hair Clips that Go with The Color of 2012

Fashion watchers and hair accessories aficionados, take note:

Color experts at the Pantone Color Institute have selected Tangerine Tango as the color of 2012. Leatrice Eisenman, executive director, talks about their chosen color:
“Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it. Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.”
Expect this shade to show up in everything from runway fashions and accessories (including hair clips!) to home furnishings and even makeup and athletic gear.

Wearing such a bold shade means using toned-down accessories, such as the Dakota, shown below in light blue. This 1 ¼” organza sequin Baby Bow on a pinch clip or mini pinch clip is the perfect laid-back companion to tangerine tango’s in-your-face brightness. The Dakota is also available in black, cream, forest green, lavender, maroon, navy, orange, red, shocking pink and white.

Neutral colors also go well with this year’s shade. A hair bow like the Kellie, a 2 ½ boutique-style grosgrain bow, shown below in cream, is a chic counterpoint to a tangerine tango ensemble.

Don’t want to go all out with a tangerine outfit? Then inject just small shot of this color into your wardrobe. The Sydney, a 2”cross knot grosgrain baby bow on a pinch clip, is the perfect solution. It comes in orange, and can be worn to brighten up any neutral-colored outfit. The Sydney is also available in citron, dark brown, French blue and maroon.
