Making Mother-and-Me Memories

Continuing our week-long celebration of Mother’s Day!

All moms know that as much as you might wish it, you just can’t stop your baby girl from growing up quickly!

Soon, it’ll be Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus ruling her fashion sense, but for now you still get to choose what she wears, from head to toe, so let’s make the most of it!

Coordinating accessories is one of the cutest ways you can show to the world that you and your daughter share a special bond, just remember that you don’t always have to wear matching outfits and accessories to look adorable together.

For inspiration, just have a look at a couple of wonderful pairings to be had when you mix and match No Slippy Hair Clippy® hair accessories.

Choosing the right accessories for mom and baby is all about finding the right tone. In this beautiful picture, flowers are abloom with our doting mom wearing the lively Kaia flower, a multi-petaled lily filled with sparkly gemstones at the center. Meanwhile, her daughter sports the Grace headband in soft pink bloom and pearl. The double ruffle organza material wraps comfortably on the little one and beautifully compliments the floral print sundress and her mom’s accessory of choice.

This second mother-daughter picture should be familiar to those of you who visit our website regularly, it’s casual clip fun with our young mom flaunting the intricately designed Michelle flower, trimmed with sequins and studded with a brilliant central jewel. Her daughter boasts a shiny clip of her own – the Felicia butterfly clip available in chromatic shades of shocking pink (seen above), lime, and navy. The colors contrast beautifully and really bring the picture alive, don’t you agree?

Hundreds of other picture-perfect themes await you at the No Slippy Hair Clippy® store. Check them out and start making your own timeless, mother-and-me memories.

Pretty in Polka Dot

Themed parties can range from the more traditional Dress in Pink variety to the more exotic African Safari, now you can hit the sweet spot between these two extremes with the quirky, classic Polka Dot theme party!

Easy to organize and decidedly fun, the Polka Dot theme party is making a comeback after first exploding in popularity in 2006. This time around, the focus is less on polka dot pencil skirts and scarves and more on eye-catching accessories.

Invest in a few choice hair pieces from No Slippy Hair Clippy® and your little girl will surely be the prettiest of the polka dot princesses this year.

The Dottie baby bow gives off an irresistible charm, with polka dots all over, covering even the bold bow knot center. It comes in a variety of two-toned colors and can be worn as a single accessory near the temple, clipping the bangs neatly to the side to better frame that cute little face, or you can use them in pairs to adorn pigtails and other similar styles.

The slightly asymmetrical Mimi baby bow shares similarities with the Dottie design, but offers a softer, more butterfly-like bow shape. The center knot is thinner and scrunched tighter, highlighted in an identical color to the polka dots covering its surface. The Mimi baby bow looks great on braids and long ponytails.

The Mimi headband does wonders for short bobs and shoulder-length locks, adding a dash of spice and joyous fun to the occasion. The grosgrain band is soft to the touch and won’t snag your daughter’s hair, and is comfortable enough to be worn all day with absolutely no hassle.

For a completely different look, the Clipettes Prints - Dots™ collection is sure to dazzle with its bright color palettes. Each clipette pairs two shades of pink dots against a background of lime or turquoise, throwing the dots into brilliant contrast. The different colored accents also give your daughter more choices when planning a coordinated party ensemble.

Now you have the tools, so be sure to have a blast with your Polka Dot party!

Colorful Choices for Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo ranks among the liveliest and most colorful holidays in the United States. Banners in bold hues line the streets, while festival performers dress up in ruffled dresses and ponchos as they dance to live mariachi music.

If you and your daughter plan to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, you’ll need equally festive hair accessories to match the spirit of the holiday. Here are some No Slippy Hair Clippy choices in striking colors and floral designs, but still chic enough for everyday use.

It will surely look dazzling when worn with a traditional Mexican dress or a simple embroidered blouse.

Hair clips are also a great choice for Cinco de Mayo, especially if your daughter likes to dance. The Sage clip has a no-slip design that keeps hair in place at all times. The sunflower shape is made from long, soft petals and has a beaded center – definitely a showstopper fit for your stylish girl.

Plan a Zoo Day, Special Memories for Mom and Daughter!

The sun’s out and spring is in the air, why stay indoors when you and your baby daughter can have a day of fun down at the local zoo! Just make sure you plan ahead:

Zoo Preparation Tips
  • Stroller – Pick a comfortable stroller, preferably with a sun shade. If you’re thinking of loaning a stroller from the zoo, bring your own blanket so you’re sure it’s clean and comfortable.
  • Sunscreen – While everyone needs a little sunshine, it’s always best to be protected!
  • Extra Food and Clothes – Pack all the essentials, like her favorite food and extra diapers and bottles in case she gets hungry.
  • Itinerary – It’s always a good plan to have a decent idea of what habitats you’ll be visiting. Try to avoid wild and noisy animals that might overwhelm or alarm her.
Don't forget the camera!

Now that you’re all set and have the schedule and day kit ready, it’s time to plan her outfit for the big zoo day. No Slippy Hair Clippy® has two sets of adorable animal clips for you to choose from.

Mila Baby Animals is a fun six-piece collection of animal clips, from the cuddly cow to the rosy-cheeked monkey. Each clip is covered in smooth felt that’s gentle to the touch, and designed to stay on no matter how excited she gets!

Meanwhile, the Jayla Garden Critters come in four colorful insect designs. The dragonfly version comes in brown and pink, both of which look great on blonde and dark brown hair respectively. The pink snail and rainbow butterfly are slightly smaller in size, but are equally cute and colorful.

Have a great time at the zoo!

A Lovely Gesture for Earth Day

On April 22, 1970 a concerned US senator launched the first Earth Day to get people talking about the environment. Fast forward over four decades, and Earth Day has become a global event that raises awareness for our precious planet.

One with Earth

Your baby is never too young to rock the world with peace signs! By wearing the Peace Sign clipette™, she can help remind people to put aside their differences and come together for the good of the planet. This clipette™ is made of grosgrain ribbon and available in black and shocking pink.

Natural Beauty

Flowers are one of Mother Nature’s most stunning creations. Without flowers, landscapes lose their beauty and plants cannot produce fruit or propagate their seeds. Your baby blossom can give tribute to this natural wonder by wearing the Kara Gingham Rose, a mini clip with a classic bloom and leaf design.

If your toddler already has a big bundle of hair, the Lindsey headband is a better choice to keep her tresses neat, pretty and Earth Day ready. This headband comes in pink or white, and has a double-layer, five-petal flower design topped off with sparkling sequins.

Hip Butterflies

Moms, don’t let your little ones have all the fun. Capture the spirit of the ‘70s with these Meredith butterfly clips.

Now go out and flaunt those hair clips while doing your fair share of conserving, recycling and educating.

Happy Earth Day everyone!
