Hair Clippy Photographer Amanda Elkins Featured on Babiekins Magazine

I would like to share this great article on Babiekins Magazine about Amanda Elkins, our wonderful photographer who got her start shooting for No Slippy Hair Clippy.  In the article, Amanda talks about how taking photos of her young children stoked her passion for photography and blossomed into a career:

“My friends would see the images and ask me to take a few shots of their kids, and soon, my friends’ friends were asking me to do the same for them. When my baby girl was about nine months old, I started shooting images of her for No Slippy Hair Clippy (a great hair accessories company for little girls). That led to working with child actress Ryan Newman for a No Slippy Hair Clippy catalog.”

Amanda has a keen eye for photographing children, capturing not just their innocence but also their character and individuality. We are proud to have her stellar photos grace our website and consider her a valuable, influential force on the Hair Clippy brand.

Since her early days with us at Hair Clippy, Amanda has gone on to do fashion shoots with TV and movie stars and other celebrities. She recently shot four Twilight actors for the Fall issue of Zooey Magazine, and has produced photo shoots featuring stars such as Jennifer Love Hewitt and Anna Kendrick.

No Slippy Hair Clippy Wants You!

We need new models for an upcoming photo shoot! The next No Slippy Hair Clippy Girl could be your very own little princess!


It will be shot by our favorite photographer, Amanda Elkins, who has also done our previous gorgeous photos. The shoot will be done in Ventura County this April 18th!

We are currently looking for:

* Mommies with baby girls

* 6-month to 12-month-old baby girls

* Toddler girls

* Girls age 4-8

* Teen girls

Requirements:

- Parents will be required to sign model release
- Only 1 responsible party per model on location
- Must be willing to travel to Ventura County
- No still or video camera allowed on-site

If you're interested, please send recent photos of your girls to info@amandaelkins.com. Models will be chosen by April 12, 2010.

Boom Boom Room Updates

We're counting down the days to Boom Boom Room 2010 in LA and we cannot possibly be more excited! Here is a "snap shot" of what it will be like this year.

We were invited to participate last year too, so we're pretty familiar with how things go in the event. But this year, what's new are the several charities participating! And we're thrilled to show some support! No Slippy Hair Clippy will be leaving products for Halle Berry’s charity, called The Jenesse. It's a non-profit organization that provides shelter to women and children who were victims of domestic violence. Aside from that, I will also be bringing three to four of my favorite books to the event to donate.

I expect a HUGE turn out this year, including A-listers who are some of No Slippy Hair Clippy's first fans, which is just wonderful. I'll be tweeting updates during the event, so all those who want in on all the juicy details, follow us on Twitter: iClippy and tell us which celebrities you think we will spot!

I'm also very excited that Amanda Elkins, our prized photographer, is coming on Saturday, so I expect some very professional photo shots for us that day! Lovely young actress Ryan Newman (of Disney's Zeke and Luther) confirmed she’s coming to the show Saturday, too! This young lady is extremely busy, but is making time to visit the show to see No Slippy Hair Clippy and Amanda (who has shot her photos on several occasions).

This is an exciting time for us, and a super way to start off this New Year of 2010!
